Hearing problems differ from person to person. There are those who have trouble hearing low-pitched sounds and those with high-pitched sounds, while others cannot hear the phone ringing or understand the words spoken on TV. Even the solution varies from person to person.

For this, in addition to the traditional audiometric tests, Amplifit presents scenes of real life, with high quality film clips lasting about 30 seconds. The test is very enthralling for the client, and is done in an interactive way, with our client and the hearing-aid specialist seated side by side.

The computer screen shows various situations: home, recreation, work, transport, nature, for a total of six types of sounds: normal speech, speech in noise, speech with reverberation, weak sounds, strong sounds, musical sounds.

A sequence is chosen for each client that best reflects the sound environment in which he works.

The client answers questions that are shown on the screen.

In the end the computer draws a data graph which is stored. This constitutes the client’s hearing profile.

The computer compares the results with the data on normal hearing obtained with the same situations.

After applying the hearing-aid, the client tries it out for a certain period. Then he returns to Amplifon for a new Amplifit test. The client has the possibility of personally checking his hearing results.

An eventual further adjustment can be made. With second-generation hearing-aids, the computer is connected directly to the hearing-aid itself, and adjusts it in order to obtain best results.

Amplifit can be found at Amplifon centres, and is used when a person is using the hearing-aid for the first time, or whenever he wants the best solution, tailored to his own specific needs.
