This advice can not only be followed by the user but also by the parents and teachers of the hypoacusis child: - Protect the hearing-aid against external agents such as dust, humidity, excessive heat and cold, impacts and sprays
- change the battery according to the instructions given by the hearing-aid specialist
- make sure the batteries are correctly installed
- do not force them in the battery holder
- use the special battery tester to check the charge. Also, carefully follow these simple rules:
If the child tends to play with the potentiometer, the volume control can be blocked by means of special potentiometer covers, whereas in programmable appliances the volume can be electronically fixed: talk to your hearing-aid specialist. | Also, carefully follow these simple rules: |
- Do not change the position of the switches or function buttons with respect to the hearing-aid specialist's instructions
- Every day, make sure that the earpiece sound hole is free; otherwise use the special cleaning kit
- Make sure that the in-the-ear hearing-aid sound hole is clean: otherwise use the special cleaning kit
- Every day, make sure that the plastic bend of the behind-the-ear hearing-aid is free; otherwise, use the special cleaning kit
- Make sure that the behind-the-ear hearing-aid plastic bend is not holed: If so, see your hearing-aid specialist for replacement
- Clean the earpiece and the appliance with the special cloth
To keep the earpiece in good hygienic condition, use specific cleaning products, according to the recommendations of your hearing-aid specialist.
In any case, it is a good rule to change the tube at least every three months and redo the earpiece at least once a year. Take care to correctly refit the earpiece, respecting the sides. | Carry out the following every day |
- make sure the battery is charged,
- turn on the appliance provided with earpiece,
- turn the volume to maximum.
- place the appliance in the hollow of your hand: IT MUST WHISTLE
