Prompt by this awareness, Amplifon has developed a specific fitting and rehabilitation system, keeping in mind children and their special needs.

When a child has been prescrived a hearing aid, Amplifon activates this procedure based on exacting technical and scientific prerequisites: 

  • the child growth rhythm must be respected
  • he must be able to receive low, high and normal sounds
  • he must be able to choose useful sounds
  • the fitting of his hearing aid must be customized correctly.

The pediatric protocol consists of a series of actions, performed by Amplifon of his audioprothesists, including both technical actions and professional behaviours, targeted to the full success of fitting and rehabilitation, to ensure the child exploit the full benefits

  • Evaluation of hearing loss: a series of tests to verify the type and degree of the hearing loss, to select the most appropriate hearing and the most appropriate amplification
  • Fitting and selection: Amplifon employs all the expertise of its audioprothesists in selecting the best amplification for the child
  • Checking: several measurements to fine tune the setting, performed with hi-tech equipment that guarantee sure and repeatable results
  • Checking: the small patient, together with his/her parents, is given instructions by the audioprothesist on: use of the hearing aids, daily cleaning, follow-up controls, use of telephone and other devices, relation with his/her specialized medical
